Arab financial systems: lessons from Asia and future challenges
Article Abstract:
Arab economies have similar features with East Asian countries that make them vulnerable to the Asian economic crisis. These features include currency exchange rates that are pegged to the US dollar, weaknesses in the regulation and supervision of financial systems and lack of transparency concerning economic and financial information. However, Arab countries can limit the effects of the Asian crisis by capitalizing on the valuable lessons from the past Asian miracle and from the crisis itself.

Ras al-Khaimah free zone in the U.A.E
Article Abstract:
The Free Trade Zone of Ras al-Khaimah was established by decree in May 2000. The Free Zone may be approached by three types of operations, including branch offices of a foreign company, and four types of licenses are available, including commercial general trading licenses.
