Absolute and relative rewards for individuals in team production

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the use of prizes as an incentive tool in team production environments. A monetary prize was used in a standard experiment with asymmetrically endowed subjects representing asymmetric capabilities to contribute towards the group objective. Results indicated the prize treatments enhanced group contributions. Findings also showed that rewarding persons based on absolute contributions increased the dispersion between the contributor and the remainder of the group.

The estimation of the quantiles in the IEQ regression

Article Abstract:

The quantiles used in the phrasing of income evaluation questions and how it affects the quantification of individual welfare functions were analyzed. Households were surveyed as to their consideration of tax income, from very bad, insufficient, sufficient, good and very good. The quantiles were estimated according to the equal interval assumption. It was concluded that estimation analysis did not support the equal interval hypothesis.
