Globalization and the Arab world: choosing prosperity or poverty

Article Abstract:

Economic prosperity brought about by globalization remains elusive to Arab countries due to continued existence of conflict and instability in the region. The economies of Arab countries face several problems, such as budget, current account deficits and high unemployment rate. Achievement of prosperity, however, remains possible if Arab countries implement changes, such as global integration and structural economic reforms.

Article Abstract:

It is hoped peace talks in the Middle East will lead to an increase in foreign investment and tourism. Less would also be spent on arms which should strengthen the domestic economies in the region.
