Article Abstract:
CPC, the French group which makes a turnover of FFr 1.5bn (FFr 60mn in folding boxes and FFr 320mn in labels), is continuing its European development strategy on the label market. CPC has signed a letter of intent concerning the acquisition of Haferkamp, the third largest German label manufacturer, which has two production plants in the Bremen region, and which makes a turnover of FFr 230mn, including FFr 25mn from adhesive labels. The acquisition of Haferkamp makes CPC's adhesive labels branch stronger. It went into adhesive labels in 1998, setting up a production plant at Evian, and then it took over the Sipse company in June 2000. Sipse, which is located at Nozay in the Essonne departement, makes a turnover of FFr 50mn in adhesive labels. CPC is now well installed on the adhesive label market in France, the Benelux countries, Germany, and Eastern European countries, and it hopes to make a turnover of FFr 100mn with adhesive lables in 2001.
