Thiriet is investing FFr 60mn in its logistics. A new unit will go into service soon at La Ferte-Bernard in the Sarthe departement, and another logistics unit project for the south-east of France may open in the short term. The new units will have an integral bar code feature. Therefore it will be possible to deliver orders by a carton which corresponds to a client. Thiriet, which makes and distributes ice cream desserts, made a turnover of FFr 1.1bn in 2000.

Rolland, the French ice cream company, has introduced a 130ml Push Cne under the Flipi brand for restaurants, hotels and food services. This is a lemon ice cream topped with an ice cream choux bun, and decorated with strawberry coulis. This ice cream comes in a polystyrene cone; one pushes on the cone for the ice cream to come out.

Frubetto, one of Nestle's new ice creams for summer, has packaging by the Lonsdale design agency. This packaging bears a pictogram with the information that one ice cream equals a glass of fruit juice, and it has messages written in several languages.
