FRANCE: WILLIAM SAURIN'S SACHET SAVEUR

Article Abstract:

William Saurin's Sachet Saveur line is a new concept on the preserved ready meals market. It is based on a new mode of cooking and on canning food separately. The meat or fish come in standard metal cans while the vegetables come in a soft pouch made of four layers - polyethylene terephthalate (PET), aluminium, polyester, and polypropylene. The television advertising campaign by the DDB agency does not stress the practicality of the packaging for the launch of this line, but on the taste of the products, which is close to that of fresh products.

The Nestle group has chosen glass bottles for it Maggi Sveltesse non-fat liquid soups to carry the image of freshness and naturalness. This choice is part of a policy of updating the brand, which began 18 months ago with the launch of sticks for instant soups. As a result of this launch Maggi Sveltesse made 10% of its sales to consumers who would not eat industrially-produced soups, and increased its market share by 10%.
