The French company Lawson Mardon Morin has introduced Expeco, a packaging film for soft cheeses such as camembert and brie. This film, made with the polymer extrusion-coating on paper technique, provides better control for ripening these cheeses. Expeco may be able to replace the standard cellulose film associated with paper thanks to the control of water vapour and oxygen transmission.
