A brief description of the pros and cons of operating as a company, as well as of working out the tax, business expenses and allowances if self-employed, is presented. The advantages are still large enough for many small businesses to make it worthwhile, though changes in 2004-2005 have led to a reduction in the tax advantages of operating as a company.
