1997-99 Ford-F150 Pickup

Article Abstract:

Ford Motor Co's redesigned 1997-1999 F-Series pickups are quieter than full-sized trucks from General Motors or Dodge and also ride more comfortably. On the highway, the F-150 delivers a stable and comfortable ride with little of the bounciness and pitching typical in most pickups. Workmanship, exterior, fit/finish and interior materials are good overall. The F-150 may be considered outstanding in its class despite challenges from new, competing products for rival automakers.

1993-97 Ford Ranger Pickup

Article Abstract:

Ford Motor Co's 1993-1997 Ranger Pickup models provide roughly the same acceleration as did the prior generation. The four-cylinder engine is adequate with a five-speed but strains under a heavy load and generally feels sluggish with automatic shift. Rangers handle well and ride comfortably, for trucks. Ford has succeeded in its objective to achieve a more carlike look and feel for this pickup, with this generation continuing to be one of the best in its class.

1994-99 Chevrolet S-Series Pickup

Article Abstract:

General Motors Corp's 1994-1999 Chevrolet S-Series pickup models are compact and rank among the best in terms of overall performance, ergonomics and refinement. The S-Series, which is pleasant to drive, is a solid-feeling truck with roomier cabins, as well as more rearward seat travel and storage space. Extra glass area makes for an airy feel, excellent visibility and reduced wind noise. Acceleration in this generation is good with the V-6 engine.
