1995-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Article Abstract:

Mitsubishi's 1995-1999 Eclipse models are mechanically similar to the Eagle Talon automobile and their virtues include dual air bags, optional anti-lock braking systems, acceleration in the GS-T and GSX editions, steering, handling, and, with reference to the GSX, all-wheel drive. This generation of vehicles remain among the best sports coupes available, but other than the all-wheel drive edition, it does not offer anything that buyers cannot get for less money elsewhere.

1990-94 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Article Abstract:

Mitsubishi's 1990-1994 Eclipse models are rakishly-styled sports coupes which may well rank as one of the best values among sports coupes. The GS with 135-horsepower DOHC four-cylinder and turbocharged all-wheel drive GSX are desirable vehicles. Ride quality varies depending on the model. Virtues of this generation include acceleration, with the exception of the GS, wet-weather traction with the all-wheel drive, handling, road holding, and optional anti-lock brakes.

1997-99 Lexus ES 300

Article Abstract:

Toyota's 1997-1999 Lexus ES 300 models offer more-than-adequate acceleration. Their engines are silent at idle speed and almost silkily silent when rolling under power. Wind rush and road noise are barely heard at highway speeds. Gas mileage is passable, steering is firmer than in previous-generation models and workmanship is exceptional. This near- luxury sedan is highly recommended for used car buyers who value comfort and elegance over sporty road manners.
