Ford Motor Co's 1995-1999 Mercury Mystique four-door sedan models are similar mechanically to the Ford Contour although they have different front and rear styling. They replaced the Topaz and were marketed in two editions, namely, the base GS and plushier LS. Buyers have a choice between the standard 125-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or the optional 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter, V-6 engine. This generation provides advantages in terms of dual air bags, optional anti-lock braking, acceleration with the V-6 engine, steering and handling.

1995-99 Ford Contour

Ford Motor Co's 1995-1999 Contour models feature smooth, responsive and lively acceleration, with their 170-horsepower V-6 engines being more than adequate for all ordinary driving situations. However, the 190-horsepower SVT engine is even more powerful, although drivers have to really work the transmission to obtain the extra power of this engine. This generation also offers precise steering, sporty handling, firmer rides, and well- designed, attractive dashboards.

1990-95 Mercury Sable

Article Abstract:

Ford Motor Co's 1990-1995 Mercury Sable is virtually a mechanical twin of the Ford Taurus. This generation is offered in two editions, the GS and LS. Standard power for either edition comes from the basic 3.0-liter V-6 engine or optional 3.8-liter V-6 engine. These models provide advantages in terms of acceleration with the 3.8-liter, V-6 engine, ride, passenger space, cargo room, dual air bags in the later models and optional anti- lock braking systems.
