1991-97 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight

Article Abstract:

General Motors Corp's 1991-97 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight models feature a revamped design to reflect a more rounded look and a longer body, although they ride on the same front-drive chassis as the 1985-1990 generation. While their conservative styling limits their appeal, the Ninety Eights are a less expensive alternative to V-8 luxury sedans such as the Cadillac Fleetwood and Lincoln Town Car. They also provide all the standard features buyers can desire, including dual air bags after 1994, standard anti-lock brakes, generous passenger room and excellent acceleration from the 3.8-liter V-6 engine.

1991-99 Ford Explorer

Article Abstract:

Ford Motor Co's 1991-1999 Explorer models are easy to enter into and depart from because of a relatively low step-in height. Head room is generous all around. Controls are simple, visibility good and analog gauges are clearly legible. Acceleration from the ohv V-6 engine is adequate and stability is reasonable. The automatic transmission responds neatly and shifts almost flawlessly. These Explorers offer the utility of minivans and hauling power of trucks. They are not cheap, however.

1990-96 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Article Abstract:

General Motors Corp's 1990-1996 Oldsmobile Silhouette models represent one of the automaker's more dramatic front-drive minivans and feature fiberglass-like composite body panels. These models are similar to the Chevrolet Lumina APV and the Pontiac Trans Sport. Virtues include driver airbags in the later editions, optional anti-lock braking systems, passenger space, cargo room an acceleration with the 3.8-liter V-6 engine. Visibility is a distinct drawback.
