1990-96 Chevrolet Corsica

Article Abstract:

Four-cylinder engines in General Motors Corp's 1990-1996 Chevrolet Corsica are noisy and anemic even with the increased power afforded by such engines in the 1992 and 1994 editions. Thus, the option of a V-6 is a considerably more prudent choice even if fuel economy suffers slightly with these engines. The LTZ suffers a significant loss in riding comfort although it offers the ultimate Corsica setup for power and handling. Base suspension and tires in these LTZ editions combine to discourage even moderately aggressive driving.

1993-97 Dodge Intrepid

Article Abstract:

Acceleration is adequate with 3.3-liter V-6 engines in DaimlerChrysler Corp's 1993-1997 Dodge Intrepid models but is not sufficiently snappy for quick passing. Thus, the early Dodge Intrepid ES models are a better choice with the larger V-6 engine and touring suspension employing 16-inch tires. These early ES models deliver fine, overall performance, including precise handling and cornering. However, beware of the ES with optional Performance Handling Group, which yields a stiffer ride.

1990-94 Dodge Shadow

Article Abstract:

DaimlerChrysler Corp's 1990-1994 Dodge Shadow models are front-drive subcompacts with two basic engine sizes, namely, the 2.2- and 2.5-liter engines. Performance is listless with the basic 2.2-liter engine, which is on the noisy side. Action is somewhat better and smoother with the 2.5- liter four, which does not consume much more fuel than the 2.2-liter version. This generation comprises solid models which look good, perform well and are attractively priced.
