Viking Office Supplies has opened a Dutch Web site after starting a similar site in Germany and relaunching its Web site in the US. The three sites are exacts replicas of the its Web site in the UK, which it developed in 1999. Viking Marketing VP Sean Clough said the US site was revamped since it was not doing as well as the company expected it to be. However, he was delighted at the amount of business generated by the German site. Certain changes were done on the site, particularly on language length since German words are longer than those in English.

Kmart Corp officially launched on Oct 16, 2000 the addition of a new line of housewares, Martha Stewart Everyday Kitchen, to the popular home brand offered at its 2,150 retail stores. MarthaStewart.com announced the availability of the new line at Kmart stores and at www.bluelight.com. Also, e-mail messages to Martha.Stewart.com's 1.5 million registered users were sent to coincide with the newspaper inserts. This month, a 30-second spot will run on daytime and prime-time network television.

Interactive TV programmers and service providers must see to it that TV viewers have control over the direct response environment. Viewers will ultimately tire out of having to click their remote control to respond to numerous TV prompts. Viewers must be able to dictate their own preferences for interactive TV viewing. They should have a choice on how often their attention is solicited, how these solicitations are displayed and a feedback mechanism for airing complaints.
