Palo Alto, CA-based direct marketing services provider Talkway Communications is offering a video-enabled service that is especially designed for the direct marketing industry called MarketingTalk. The service will benefit marketers in several ways. MarketingTalk enables clients to deliver video messages, which are embedded into electronic mail and banner advertising campaigns, to users who may lack the latest software and have only, for instance, a modem connection.

Jan Kestle has resigned as president of Compusearch Micromarketing Data and Systems to become the general manager of Atelier America, an art reproduction house based in Markham, Ontario, that sells mainly by direct mail to customers in the US. Kestle will help Atelier expand its offerings with products like greeting cards that will be sold in retail outlets. The company has also developed a process that makes the reproductions look very much like the original works.
