FedEx debuts home delivery

Federal Express Corp will launch its new service, the FedEx Home Delivery on Mar 14, 2000. Its new service, a ground service, will enable it to compete with major ground carriers such as United Parcel Service. It will target business-to-consumer shippers and will be managed from the FedEx Ground operational network while using FedEx Ground for its pickup and package sorting.

Hold for pickup goes on hold

Computer manufacturing firm Dell Inc. has successfully tested new Hold for Pickup Service, this new service will enable customers in shipping high-value , heavy weight goods and hold them for 10days at postal offices instead of direct delivery. United States Postal Service has said that it will take some time to test this service
