Teleperformance of Atlanta, GA, has opened contact centers in Youngstown, OH, McAllen, TX, and Atlanta, GA. The facility in McAllen, TX, has 430 seats while the one in Youngstown, OH, has more than 280 seats and 225 Web-enabled PCs. The Atlanta, GA, center, on the other hand, has an 18- station lab designed to test new technology and pilot porgrams for deployment throughout the company's contact centers.

Sitel Corp of Baltimore, MA, will open a 30,000-square-foot contact center in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The call center was built to provide customer service to Sitel clients in the US. In the future, it will also be used to serve customers from UK and other English-speaking countries. The company chose to build a call center in Jamaica because of the availability of cheap labor.

The center will have an initial staff of 100 and will be capable of employing an additional 140.
