Article Abstract:

It is becoming increasingly common for computer users to find that floppy disks offer insufficient storage capacity. The most popular options in this case are Iomega's Zip and Jaz drives. However, the disks are not compatible with other drives, and there are concerns about the disks jamming. It may be better to opt for the SuperDisc, which holds 120 MB on a disk the same size as the conventional floppy. In the future, it is likely that computer users will switch to the DVD-RAM standard, which will allow almost 10 GB to be stored on a single disk the size of a CD-ROM.

Article Abstract:

Significant progress has been made with voice recognition technology, and it is now becoming genuinely useful. The best voice recognition systems can now get nine out of 10 words right in a given document, and each system can be trained to recognize specific words. The most highly respected systems are Dragon Systems' NaturallySpeaking and IBM's ViaVoice. No special equipment is required for voice recognition apart from a good quality soundcard and a microphone.
