Scotch mist

Article Abstract:

The National Library of Scotland is upgrading its fire protection at a cost of 4 million pounds sterling. Advanced sprinklers designed by US company Artim will be used. These will be capable of putting out a fire in a few minutes by dampening and cooling down steelwork. Each quick response sprinkler is independently controlled and is triggered off by heat. Other fire measures to be installed are fire stairs and lift, emergency lighting, mechanical smoke extraction and external spray.
