Spanner in the works

Article Abstract:

The repair of a large viaduct on the railway line between London, England, and Brighton, England, in the county of West Sussex has required the use of traditional techniques. For this reason, the work has been undertaken by stonemasons who had previously worked on the restoration of the medieval cathedral in Chichester, England. The viaduct, completed in 1840, is the highest railway viaduct in the south of England, being made up of 37 arches which rise to 29 mt above the river Ouse.
