The New York Times Co intends to launch a catalog in late 2000 that will make use of the newspaper publisher's more than a century-old archive of photographs and news items. The company has released a similar catalog in 1996 in commemoration of 100 years of ownership by the family of Adolph S. Ochs. The Times' move into the realm of direct marketing follows the successful launch of its mail-order business and online store.
