In-town renovation provides attractive apartment living

Article Abstract:

The Haight building's upper six floors of office space had been uninhabited for almost two decades, prompting building owner Fred Scheetz to decided to convert the office building in Seattle, WA, into a residential structure. The project entailed the gutting of every floor, the replacement of about 150 windows and the restoration fo the building facade. Other alterations included the transfer of an elevator shaft, the construction of a steel stair and the installation of new electrical and mechanical systems and building roof. The building, renamed Second and Pine, was completed in Jun 1992.

Camino Villas is accessible to the beach, shopping and entertainment centers and the freeway and has its own recreational area for its residents.

Excel Design/Build, an architectural and remodeling firm, used a graphic design package to improve closing ratio success from 64% to 93%. The computer software not only helps the company lower marketing costs, its also makes easier the process of editing a design. Additionally, the program is a marketing tool that shows clients how a renovation plan may eventually look.
