Electronic mail (e-mail) has evolved into a 'killer' Internet application. Jupiter Communications has predicted that the number of electronic messages that are transmitted annually will increase from 132 billion in 1999 to 432 billion by 2003. However, electronic mail has brought with it a form of tyranny where users feel compelled to respond to messages right away, thereby making for considerable personal stress. A number of suggested tips may help internet users to overcome the tyranny of e-mail.

E-businesses should formulate a distinctive core company strategy to take advantage of the booming e-commerce market. Forrester Research predicts business-to-business Web marketing to expand to $1.3 trillion by 2003 from $43.1 million in 1998. The market's huge potential, plus the significant cost savings offered by Internet technology, will inevitably attract many players, but companies who are unwilling to embrace change will fall by the wayside.
