Electronic mail (e-mail) has evolved into a 'killer' Internet application. Jupiter Communications has predicted that the number of electronic messages that are transmitted annually will increase from 132 billion in 1999 to 432 billion by 2003. However, electronic mail has brought with it a form of tyranny where users feel compelled to respond to messages right away, thereby making for considerable personal stress. A number of suggested tips may help internet users to overcome the tyranny of e-mail.
