Equipment and technology review: Dreiger at the Dublin Port Tunnel

Article Abstract:

Respro Ltd. has recommended the installation of a complete Rescue Room at the Dublin Port Tunnel, wherein seven Dreiger BG4 closed apparatus sets, as well as, Draeger resuscitators, dryers, compressors and other equipment, have been specified. The rationale for installation of the above is that the contractor of the tunnel, Nishimatsu would want to be known for the best rescue room in Ireland, when it comes to industrial and construction requirements.

An analysis is presented on the true cost of urban tunnel construction with the case study of Channel Tunnel . It is important to compare the prices before starting a major construction work and it is always better to be honest about the cost rather than showing wrong figures.

New code of practice for risk management for UK tunnel works
