Doubleday boosts online book club efforts

Article Abstract:

Doubleday Direct Inc, a Bertelsman-owned mail-order giant, will boost its online book clubs promotions to downplay competition from Internet booksellers. The company will launch such book clubs as Oasis (oasisbookclub.com), Black Expressions (blackexpressions.com) and Venus (venusbookclub.com) in the US over the next coming months. These book clubs will be launched with paper-based mailings, telemarketing banner ads, audience-specific Web sponsorships and targeted e-mail campaigns.

Vegetarian Times plans fresh market approach
