Article Abstract:
Direct Marketing Experts (DME) of Westlake Village, CA, which specializes in list acquisition, has filed a $3-million lawsuit in California against Dun & Bradstreet of Murray Hill, NJ, for interfering with DME's contractual relationship with Labor Ready Inc. of Tacoma, WA, a temporary employment company. DME claimed that it was contracted by Labor Ready to provide the complete D&B business database of 11 million records over a one-year period as well as related database analysis services and quarterly updates. However, D&B offered to sell Labor Ready the database directly for $60,000, according to DME. In a press release, DME stated that D&B's action was an attempt to undermine DME's broker-client relationship.
