Convergys buys UK software maker

Article Abstract:

Convergys has acquired British software maker Geneva Technology Ltd in an effort to increse its presence overseas. The deal, worth $692 million, called for Convergys to pay Geneva shareholdes 17.6 million shares of its own stock. The agreement is expected to close in Apr 2001. It is expected to create $70 million in 2002, and $210 million in 2003. Geneva provides billing solutions for telecommunications, utilities and online businesses.
