Article Abstract:

Some observers have criticised the new Braehead Centre, Glasgow, Scotland for lacking fun and excitement compared to the new shopping centre, Bluewater, in Kent, England. Building Design Partnership were the architects of the Braehead Centre. They have used overhead glazing to maximise the natural light in the 285 million pounds shopping centre. The design includes large car parks catering for 6,500 visitors, with three entrances to the building. They have tried to simplify the route around the centre for customers. Yet the building seems daunting and clinical at times.
