Abercrombie & Fitch to delete drinking article from Magalog

Article Abstract:

Abercrombie and Fitch of Reynoldsburg, OH, announced recently that it will remove a controversial two-page story entitled "Drinking 101" from its new magazine catalog, the A&F Quarterly. The cataloger cited that it does not encourage underage drinking or binge drinking. The article put the company in the national spotlight when Mothers Against Drunk Driving publicly criticized the said piece and called for recall of the catalog on NBC's "Today" show. Sales of A&F Quarterly reportedly went up 40% from the first quarter. However, the cataloger states that the increase can not be attributed directly to the controversy as the magalog's circulation has risen steadily since its debut in 1997.
