A certifiable nuisance

Article Abstract:

There are a number of reasons to be concerned about the UK Dept of the Environment, Transport and the Regions' consultation paper entitled 'Taking Forward Self-Certification Under the Building Regulations.' These include the concept of competency, with any organization certifying or approving a company or individual as competent to undertake certain work, or to self-certify compliance with the Building Regulations, becoming potentially vulnerable to being sued.
