Wireless keyboards fit desktop, laptop terminals

Article Abstract:

Alps Electric Co. Ltd.'s KFNR-Ir line of infrared wireless keyboards include pointing devices and can work with desktop and laptop computers. The keyboards, which features Alps' system for improved data transmission quality, can also function for Internet television, CATV and Internet set-top boxes. The KFNR-Ir series' data transmission reaches 10Kbps and utilizes a transmission system that avoids data errors in single-direction transmissions. The keyboards have an interface that is fully interchangeable with PS/2 devices and they can also screen out noise from fluorescent lamps.

PDA terminals move data wirelessly

Sharp Corp. offers three Business Zaurus personal digital assistants (PDAs) that allow users to send information wirelessly using infrared technology. The 18MB-memory BI-T318, the 18MB-memory BI-T310 and the 10MB-memory BI-H318 are all compatible with a IrDA1.1 optical-communication, as well as with the existing IrDA1.0 optical communications functions. The devices also feature a personal information manager, a map-viewer, a personal database function and a communication function. The PDAs also work with a video output card.

Sharp's palm terminals extend mobile convenience, multimedia power

Sharp Corp of Japan has developed a number of mobile terminals to suit the needs of corporate users. These latest products reflect the transformation of handheld computers from high-end calculating devices to highly sophisticated and versatile mobile communication products. Sharp Corp's newest palm terminals include the 16MB-memory PV-6000 and 32MB-memory PV- 6050 Handheld PC Pro models, the 1.22-kg, 32MB-memory, RISC-containing PV- 5000 A and the 32-bit RISC, 75MHz processor-containing HC-4000A with 16MB RAM memory.
