Casio has introduced its new portable computer called the Cassiopeia E-10. It features advanced levels of integration with computers using Windows95 or WindowsNT systems. The Cassiopeia E-10 can synchronize automatically with the terminal and the personal computer it links to. Memos can be writen down onto the computer screen that will be stored directly into the computer memory. Cassiopeia E-10 can browse the Internet with its Mobile Channels feature. Quicken ExpensAble, the Digital Camera viewer, and the Meeting Minder are all applications and software that are included with the system.

Casio Computer Co. Ltd. is providing its dealers with products that enjoy leading-edge technologies over its rivals in the saturated market for electronic cash registers (ECRs). The company hopes to convince users of traditional ECRs to try POS systems based on personal computers. For its part, Casio is offering the SA-500 and the SA-5100 POS systems based on personal computers. These products also provide support to UNIX, OS/2, MS-DOS, Windows 3.1 and Windows95 operating systems. Casio produces 90% of its ECRs outside Japan to save costs.

An increased demand for analog watches has resulted in three new series by Casio Computer Ltd. The watches contain second, minute, and hour hands. They are expected to sell between 6,000 and 28,000 yen. Approximately 500,000 analog watches are scheduled for production each month.
