The Infocomm Europe show held at Cologne, Germany, featured the latest projector systems that integrated several technologies to provide a variety of uses. The professional image communication and presentation event drew 175 suppliers from 23 countries. The projection screens displayed at the show targeted the audio-video equipment market. Products included data, video, graphic and multimedia projectors, plasma display panels, LCD panel displays, light emitting diode (LED)-containing walls, wall mountable LED trucks, projection cubes and high-resolution cathode ray tubes.

Sanyo Electric Company Ltd will highlight its latest line of bright, versatile and dependable data projectors at CeBIT '99 in Hannover, Germany. The company, which has vowed to further develop its range of projectors, intends to aggressively promote its entertainment-use projectors. Sanyos's latest line of projectors include the 3.9-kg portable PLC-SU10, the PLC-XP10 Sereies XGA with the 160W Superior Intensity Discharge lamp and the PLC-XR70 with the 70-in LCD projector.

Victor Company of Japan Ltd has introduced its LX-D1000 projector. The key feature of the product is a built-in PCMCIA slot that accepts standard flash memory cards, which enables the projector to display images without linking to a computer. LX-D1000 uses three 0.9-inch thin-film transistor LCD panels and offers native XGA performance. The projector delivers a luminance of 1,000 ANSI lumens.
