Airborne Freight Corp provides customers with a daily update of vendors' performance using an eight-member help desk. The objectives are to ensure that vendors are doing their job and that customer problems are addressed. The procedure works by searching for open calls in the shipping firm's logging application. This is followed by a phone call to the concerned vendor until such time that the problem has been solved. All information are then logged and reviewed on a monthly basis by management.

Software vendors are developing more tools for the information technology outsourcing market, which has been estimated to have an annual growth of more than 13%. Software developers have been focusing on repair firms, call centers and other desktop services providers over the past three years. However, the competition in the market has been rising as more tool developers offer tailor-made products to service providers which previously use their own proprietary software.
