Systex Corp.'s formula for growth is to increase value to services and products and create alliances with the largest information equipment and service providers in the world. It provides a diverse range of data-processing paraphernalia that includes point-of-sales systems, handheld data terminals, electronic transaction equipment and tools with medical, financial and retail applications. The Taiwan-based electronics-maker started operating in 1976 and now has 928 employees. Systex reported that revenues jumped 24% from $102 million in 1996 to $126 million in 1997.

Karrie Industrial Co Ltd, a Hong Kong-based manufacturer of computer housings, has benefited from the computer industry boom. Founded in 1980, the company produces more than 350,000 personal computer casings every month at its production facilities in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China. The Dongguan factory is ISO9002 certified and uses state-of-the-art, computer-controlled machines.

Seiko Epson Corp. has established a niche for manufacturing various printer technologies that are recognized as leading industry standards. The Nagano, Japan-based company is launching three models for the Super Colorio series of printers, which it projects to reach 2.2 mil units in annual sales for 1999. Seiko Epson is also offering the CP-700Z digital still camera.
