Synthesis of ultrafine Gd2O3 nanoparticles inside single-wall carbon nanocarbons

Article Abstract:

The synthesis and structural analysis of the Gd2O3-containing single-wall carbon nanohorns (SWNHs) are described. The confinement effect of the deep potential well in nanospaces of SWNHs on the encapsulated Gd2O3 nanoparticles prevented an increase in their particle size and the effectiveness of small-diameter Gd2O3 nanoparticles was revealed through the proton NMR measurements.

Monitoring two-dimensional coordination reactions: Directed assembly of Co-terephthalate nanosystems on Au(111)

Article Abstract:

The formation of two-dimensional 2(D) Co-based coordination compounds on the reconstructed Au(111) surface is observed by scanning tunneling microscopy. The analysis has described general trends on the energetics for 2D metal-carboxylate formation and has indicated the wide applicability of the developed concepts in surface coordination chemistry.

Preparation and characterization of ultrafine Co and Ni particles in a polymer matrix

Article Abstract:

A study was carried out to report a facile route for in situ synthesis of Co and Ni nanoparticles in a preorganized polyacrylamide gel. The Co nanoparticles were roughly 3-5 nm in size and were stable in the polymer matrix in the presence of air.
