Article Abstract:
The aggregation and reaction of 17,19-hexatriacontadiyne molecules are studied on an Au(111) surface and molecular orientation and arrangement are examined by infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRAS) and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The results have shown than an ordered monolayer is formed first at the liquid-solid interface and then disordered overlayers with the gauche conformation are grown but removed by a rinse.

An attempt is made to focus on the Gd-doped cerium dioxides, which can be modified with Pt or Pd to enhance the reactivity of the lattice oxygen in interaction with methane. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and temperature-programmed-reduction data revealed that surface modification with noble metals enhances the reducibility of the doped ceria support, where the effect is more pronounced for Pd than for Pt.

Article Abstract:
An investigation of the interaction of cholesterol with the headgroups of dimyristoylphosphatidycholine (DPMC) molecules under a static electric field is conducted by an applying polarization modulation infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS). The empirical results present in-depth details about conformation and hydration of headgroups of DPMC bilayers in the presence and absence of 30% cholesterol.
