Structural trends among ionic metal-halide adlayers on electrode surfaces

Article Abstract:

X-ray diffraction techniques are used to determine the structures of TI-Cl, Tl-I, and Pb-Br compounds adsorbed on Au(111) in acid solution. Sufficient data are gathered to explore the general structural trends among electrochemically prepared two-dimensional (2D) binary ionic compounds.

Reconstruction-dependent self-assembly of n-alkanes on Au(111) surfaces

Article Abstract:

The study reports the scanning tunneling microscopy of the self-assembly phenomenon of n-alkanes at the interfaces between n-alkane solutions and the Au(111) surfaces. The reconstruction of gold stabilizes the self-assembled monolayers, which results in the easy observation of STM.

Monitoring gold nanorod synthesis on surfaces

Article Abstract:

A simplified method for the synthesis of gold nanorods is described. Gold colloid seeds were deposited by electrostatic attraction onto silicon wafers and grown in a HAuCl4 solution by surfactant-assisted, seed-mediated synthesis.
