Spectral properties and redox potentials of silver atoms complexed by chloride ions in aqueous solution
Article Abstract:
Pulse radiolysis is used to determine the absorption spectra of the transient species formed during the decay of the hydrated electron in an aqueous solution containing AgCl(sub 4)(super 3-). The study provides evidence about the influence of ligands on the redox potential and the absorption spectrum of silver atoms.

Optical limitation induced by gold clusters. 1. Size effect
Article Abstract:
The nonlinear optical response of gold particles (with 2.5, 9, or 15 nm radius) prepared by gamma-radiolysis in water solution and stabilized by poly (vinyl alcohol) is size-dependent. The results show clearly that the gold particles present a size dependent optical limiting effect.

Dose rate effect on bimetallic gold-palladium cluster structure
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to examine the use of radiation-induced synthesis, which allows controlling the reduction rate through the dose rate conditions. It also confirms that the clusters obtained at high dose rate are smaller and very homogeneous in size.
