Scanning tunneling microscopy, voltammetry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study of the early stages of electrochemical faceting of gold (111) in aqueous sulfuric and perchloric acid

Article Abstract:

The mechanisms of the early stages of the electrochemical faceting of (Au (111) in 1 M aqueous sulfuric and 1M aqueous perchloric acid at room temperature, combining voltammetry, scanning tunneling microscopy and X-ray phtoelectronic spectroscopy data is investigated. The results provide new information about analysis of the first electro-oxidation scan indicating that the formation of OH- and O-electroadsorbed species is accompanied by 2D clustering.

Growth of gold nanorods and bipyramids using CTEAB surfactants

Article Abstract:

Gold nanorods and bipyramids are synthesized by using the seed-mediated approach in aqueous cetyltriethylammonium bromide (CTEAB) solutions in the presence of silver nitrate. Transmission electron microscopy characterizations have revealed that the gold nanorods grown from both types of gold nanoparticle seeds are single-crystalline and that the gold bipyramids are penta-twinned.

Studies of double-layer effects at single-crystal gold electrodes: 3. reduction kinetics of flouropentaamminecobalt(III) cation in aqueous solutions

Article Abstract:

The result of the double layer on the reduction kinetics of flouropentaamminecobalt(III) cation was examined at four different single-crystal gold substrates. The measure of the experimental transfer coefficient decreases with increasing concentration of the supporting electrolyte.
