Physical chemistry of the thermal transformation of mesoporous and microporous zirconia

Article Abstract:

The study of the thermal transformations brings about interesting information on the porous texture in poorly crystallized materials such as in mesoporous or microporous high surface area zirconia prepared with anionic surfactants. A broad distribution of the transition temperatures parallels the wall thickness distribution and the exothermic effect accompanying the transition is, in general, ill defined and, often, unobservable.

Urea-based hydrothermally derived homogeneous nanostructured Ce1-(sub x)Zr(sub x)O2 (x=0-0.8) solid solutions: a strong correlation between oxygen storage capacity and lattice strain

Article Abstract:

The preparation of Ce1-(sub x)Z(sub x)O2 (x=0-0.8) nanoparticulate powders via a mild urea hydrolysis method through homogeneous nucleation is described. It is concluded that the lattice strains in these powders show a linear relationship with their oxygen storage capacity values.

Synthesis and characterization of Zr(IV) polyoxotungstates as molecular analogues of zirconia-supported tungsten catalysts

Article Abstract:

A new zirconium-containing polyoxotungstate was prepared by alkalinization of a solution of the monomeric form is studied. Its relevance to heterogeneous catalysis as molecular analogues of zirconia-supported tungsten catalysts is also discussed.
