Photochemical behavior and formation of surface relief grating on self-assembled polyion/dye composite film
Article Abstract:
Holographic surface relief gratings (SRGs) are fabricated on composite films assembled by electrostatic layer-by-layer (ELBL) deposition of a polyelectrolyte, poly(dimethyl diallylammonium chloride) (PDAC), and an azo dye, Congo Red (CR). The newly developed electrostatic layer-by-layer (ELBL) deposition has been shown to be a simple and versatile method for assembling thin films.

Electrostatic self-assembly of polydiacetylene nanocrystals: nonlinear optical properties and chain orientation
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate extension of electrostatic self-assembly technique for preparation of multilayer films of the poly(1,6-dicarbazolyl-2,4-hexadiyne)/poly(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride nanocrystals. Atomic force microscopy image analysis show that the nanocrystals are platelets aligning parallel to the substrate plane.

Ultrafast electron transfer dynamics from molecular adsorbates to semiconductor nanocrystalline thin films
Article Abstract:
Interfacial electron transfer (ET) dynamics between semiconductor and nanoparticles and molecular adsorbates is studied by femtosecond mid-IR spectroscopy. Direct monitoring of the adsorbates vibrational spectral change and the mid-IR absorption of injected electron is possible with this tec
