Phase transition behavior of fluorinated monolayers at the water-hexane interface
Article Abstract:
X-ray surface scattering and interfacial tension measurements are used to study the solid-to-gas phase transition in soluble monolayers of F(CF sub 2)(sub 8)(CH sub 2)(sub 2)OH and F(CF sub 2)(sub 10)(CH sub 2)(sub 2)OH adsorbed at the water-hexane interface. The result indicate that hexane interface undergo a solid-to-gas phase transition in which lower temperature solid monolayer breaks into domains at the same temperature as the kink in the interfacial tension curve.

Phase studies by diffusive interfacial transport using near-infrared analysis for water (DIT-NIR)
Article Abstract:
The DIT-NIR method is described and peak-area data on the bend-stretch combination band of water are used to determine composition. Peak-area data are obtained by using Fourier transform near-infrared (FT-NIR) microspectroscopy.

The "hidden" phase diagram of water + 3-methylpyridine at large absolute negative pressures
Article Abstract:
Phase transitions in nonpolymeric fluid mixtures at negative pressures are studied. The results reveal that there is an intimate relation between pressures and the isotopic content of the solvent.
