Optimization of single-walled carbon nanotube arrays for methane torage at room temperature

Article Abstract:

The adsorption storage of methane on triangular arrays of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) at room temperature is studied by the grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) method. The results show that the (15, 15) SWNT arrays with a VDW gap of delta +0.8 nm is the optimal adsorbent among all cases studied for methane storage at room temperature.

Formation of carbon nanofibers and carbon nanotubes through methane decomposition over supported cobalt catalysts

Article Abstract:

The factors that determine the catalytic performance of Co catalysts supported on different supports, such as MgO, Al2O3, SiO2 and TiO2, for the formation of carbon nanofibers through methane decomposition are identified. The results indicate that the catalytic activity and life for the reactions are superior for Co/Al2O3 and Co/MgO.

Dispersion of single-walled carbon nanotubes in aqueous solutions of the anionic surfactant NaDDBS

Article Abstract:

The adsorption isotherms of the anionic surfactant sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (NaDDBS) on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) are analyzed. It is found that the interactions between the surfactant molecules and the nanotube walls are mostly hydrophobic in nature.
