Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to characterize a molecular mechanism supporting the chemical phenomena that occurs during the synthesis of silica-supported nickel catalysts based on the deposition-precipitation technique. The samples were determined by porous silica supporting a pore volume of 1.25 cm3 g(super -1). Experimental results indicated that Ni-OH-Ni olation/polymerization led to the formation of alpha-Ni(OH)2.

Article Abstract:
The influence of the parameters of temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) on the size of the metal particles and on the extent of nickel reduction was investigated for a Ni/SiO2 sample. The size of the metal particles and the extent of nickel reduction were determined by transmission electron microscopy, hydrogen chemisorptions, and chemical titration by sulfuric acid, and magnetic measurements.

Article Abstract:
The catalysts like 1.5 Nt wt %/Al2O3 are prepared by incipient wetness impregnation using [Ni(diamine)(sub x)(H2O)(sub 6-2x)]Y2 precursors, to avoid the formation, during calcinations, of difficult-to-reduce nickel aluminate. N2 was chosen for thermal treatment to help reveal and take advantage of the reactions occurring between Ni(super 2+), ligands, counterions, and support.
