Microscopic determination of the phase diagrams of lysozyme and gamma-crystallin solutions

Article Abstract:

The phase diagrams of two protein solutions, lysozyme and gamma-crystallin in water and added salt, are determined within a short-range, pair-potential representation of macroparticle interactions. The results indicate the minimal assumptions about the nature of the microscopic potential allowing a satisfactory reproduction of the phase-diagram topology of globular protein solutions.

Effect of coulomb interaction on the dynamics of the radical pair in the system of flavin mononucleotide and hen egg- white lysozyme (HEWL) studied by a magnetic field effect

Article Abstract:

The photoinduced electron transfer reactions of hen egg- white lysozyme (HEWL) and flavin dyes are studied. A large magnetic field effect (MFE) up to 13 percent of the yield of the free radical formation is found in the photoinduced electron transfer reaction from the tryptophan residue of HEWL to the flavin mononucleotide (FMN).

Effect of molecular anisotropy on the nucleation of lysozyme

Article Abstract:

The length of induction period for lysozyme as a function of the temperature for a solution of 16.9 mg/mL at pH 4.5 with 5% NaCl as the precipitating agent was measured. The results are described with classical nucleation theory.
