Investigation of the coordinated state of aluminum in beta zeolites by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The investigation on different beta zeolites with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy with the aim of examining the different coordination states of aluminum (Al) and the possible presence of tricoordinated Al is presented. It was found that Al(super IV) transforms to Al(super III) and Al(super VI) and change of Al(super III) to Al(super IV) was also found when the sample was ammonium-exchanged conforming the reversibility of Al in beta zeolities.

Photoinduced electron transfer in ionic liquids: Use of 2,4,6-triphenylthiapyrylium as a photosensitizer probe

Article Abstract:

The photochemistry of 2,4,6-triphenylthiapyrylium (TPT[P.sup.+]) in an ionic liquid (bmim-P[F.sub.6]) and in zeolite Y is investigated and compared. Time-resolved laser spectroscopy has documented the generation of the triplet excited state ([sup.3.T]PT[P.sup.+]) and reduction by dicyclopentadiene (DCP), generating the corresponding radical, TPT[P.sup..], and radical ion, DC[P.sup.+.].

ITQ-12: a zeolite having temperature dependent adsorption selectivity and potential for propene separation

Article Abstract:

A unique light hydrocarbon adsorption properties pure silica zeolite ITQ-12 is studied in order to assess its potential for the separation of propene from propene/propane mixtures. ITQ-12 is confirmed as a very attractive adsorbent for the kinetic based separation of propene and propane to yield polymer grade propene streams, together with PSA.
