Article Abstract:
Oxidative fragmentation of the clusters Os3(CO)12 adsorbed on MgO powder is investigated by X-ray absorption spectroscopy and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). The results state that exposure of the clusters to air leads their fragmentation, oxidation of the osmium, and formation of ensembles consisting of three Os atoms.

Article Abstract:
Mononuclear gold complexes in zeolite naY have been synthesized from initially physisorbed Au ((CH3)(sub 2))(C5H7O2) and characterized in reactive atmospheres by X-ray absorption and infrared spectroscopies. The results have been the first evidence of supported mononuclear cationic gold complexes as CO oxidation catalysts.

Article Abstract:
Mononulcear gold complexes bonded to TiO2 were synthesized from Au(CH3)2(C5H7O2)2. Characterization of the decomposition and conversion into gold nanoclusters on the TiO2 surface were done by time-resolved X-ray absorption and infrared spectroscopies as the temperature of the sample in flowing was ramped up.
