Influence of dissolved polymer on the dimensions of a tethered polymer later for a graft copolymer spread at the air- aqueous solution interface

Article Abstract:

The influence of the concentration of free poly (ethylene oxide) dissolved in the subphase on the dimensions and composition distribution of the graft layer and contrast the behavior with that reported for the spread diblock copolymer of polydimethyl siloxane- polystyrene are discussed. The extent of the parabolic decay region is not significantly influenced by the dissolved polymer but the maximum thickness of this region is reached at lower surface concentration compared to that for the graft copolymer on water.

Polymer structure and the compensation effect of the diffusion pre-exponential factor and activation energy of a permeating solute

Article Abstract:

The compensation relationship between the pre-exponential factor and the activation energy for gas diffusion in a large number of rubber and glassy polymers are analyzed. The study concluded that in most amorphous rubbery polymers, good linear relationship between In [D.sub.0] and [E.sub.D] are found for He and [H.sub.2] and for [O.sub.2], [N.sub.2], C[O.sub.2] and C[H.sub.4].

Time-resolved EPR studies of main chain radicals from acrylic polymers. Effects of tacticity, solvent, and side group structure on chain stiffness

Article Abstract:

Main chain polymeric radicals from several acrylic polymers is studied using direct detection time-resolved electron paramagnetic resonance (TREPR) spectroscopy at 9.5 GHz. Highly isotactic poly(methyl methacrylate) (i-PMMA) shows a sharp, well-resolved spectrum at about 95 degree Celsius.
