In situ synthesis and characterization of multiwalled carbon nanotube/Au nanoparticle composite materials

Article Abstract:

An effective and facile in situ reduction approach for the fabrication of carbon nanotube-supported Au nanoparticle (CNT/Au NP) composite nanomaterials is demonstrated. Linear polyethyleneimine (PEI) is ingeniously used as both a functionalizing agent for the multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and a reducing agent for the formation of Au NPs.

Bifunctional nanostructure of magnetic core luminescent shell and its application as solid-state electrochemiluminescence sensor material

Article Abstract:

Bifunctional nanoarchitecture is developed by combining the magnetic iron oxide and the luminescent Ru[(bpy).sub.3.sup.2+] encapsulated in silica. The sensitive and stable Ru[(bpy).sub.3.sup.2+] electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor has shown a wide linear range, high sensitivity and good stability.

Controlled and reversible aggregation of biotinylated gold nanoparticles with streptavidin

Article Abstract:

Biotinylated gold nanoparticles were prepared by using a two-step surface modification procedure. First, a carboxyl-terminated alkanethiol was chemisorbed onto the surface of gold nanoparticles in the presence of a stabilizing agent.
